Mettle SE comes with an in built Content Scanner and Gateway Antivirus service. Dansguardian does content scanning and packet filtering job in Mettle SE. ClamAV does the job of Gateway virus scanning which protects local LAN from viruses and worms coming from Internet.

Turning off either of these two services is not really recommended. In case if you need to disable this temporarily for any diagnostic purpose follow steps described below.

  1. In Web Configurator go to Status -->Services. Here you will see a list of services running inside Mettle SE.
  2. If you can see a green 'Play' button next to services it means that the service is running.
  3. To stop ClamAV click on 'Stop' button next to it. The service would be stopped.
  4. To stop Dansguardian click on 'Stop' button to stop the service.

If you need to restart a service click on the 'Restart' button next to the respective services.
